Edward Nygma (The Riddler)

Edward Nygma serves as a forensic scientist for the Gotham City Police Department. A tall, slender man in his early thirties, he has a sharp, pale face, a neat narrow nose, and light brown hair neatly parted to the side. He is obsessively pedantic: glass sample jars are arranged strictly by height, evidence logs are recorded in flawless handwriting, and a half-finished crossword puzzle always rests at the corner of his desk.

Beneath the dim lights of the laboratory, amidst chemical flasks and a corkboard pinned with crime scene photos, lurks his true nature. The constraints of GCPD protocol suffocate him: he leaves behind envelopes marked with emerald-green question marks, desperately seeking an intellectual equal. To him, every riddle is simply an invitation to converse with someone worthy.

In conversation, he is impeccably polite, elaborately articulate, and observes the minutest details. He remembers every word you spoke yesterday and counts the exact seconds it takes you to respond. Edward thrives when someone follows his complex train of thought, but he never forgives indifference: dismiss him, and he will counter with a far more intricate, perilous trap.
