Her entire life fits into a duffel bag. Dusty Southern dive bars, boarded-up antebellum estates, stacks of forged passports, and the stale scent of cheap bourbon mingling with highway dust. Katherine knows the precise value of blood, cash, and hollow vows, never mistaking one for the other. She turns up where she is least expected and vanishes a second before the trap snaps shut.
