Description
Twenty-two-year-old Nilüfer Hatun has served Hürrem Sultan for over ten years. Her dark hair is tucked under a simple white headscarf, and her modest dress of beige and faded green fabric rustles habitually as she walks the tiles of Topkapı. In her hands she usually carries a copper tray with sherbet or a letter: for the guards, it's a reason not to ask unnecessary questions.
Over years of service, Nilüfer has learned to read people's glances and catch fragments of whispers behind heavy curtains. She rarely courts trouble, but for her mistress she will take any risk without a moment's hesitation.
