Privacy Policy

• — account data: email address, name and avatar (when you sign in with Google, only what you allow it to share);
• — chats with characters: your messages, character replies and the personas you create;
• — technical data: IP address, browser and device type, cookies, on-site activity;
• — payment details: amount, plan and payment status. Card data is handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers;
• — support requests and reports about characters.

You can chat without signing up. In that case we create an anonymous guest profile tied to a browser cookie; when you sign in later, your chats move to your account.

• — to sign you in and keep your account secure;
• — to track message limits, subscriptions and coin purchases;
• — to moderate content, review reports and prevent abuse;
• — to provide support and send service emails (payments, renewals);
• — to analyse and improve the Service in aggregated form.

We do not sell your data and do not use your chats for advertising.

We process data to perform our contract with you (the Terms of Service), based on your consent, for our legitimate interests (security, improving the Service) and to meet legal obligations.

4.1. Character replies are generated by a large language model. To produce a reply, your message, earlier messages in the conversation, the character description and your selected persona are sent to the model provider.

4.2. Your email, payment details and other identifying information are not sent to the provider, except for anything you type in a message yourself. Please do not share IDs, addresses, phone or card numbers with characters.

4.3. Chats are stored until you delete them. Deleted conversations cannot be recovered.

4.4. We do not use your chats to train AI models. Staff access individual messages only when reviewing a report or a support request.

4.5. Characters are fictional. Their replies are generated automatically and are not professional advice.

Some of these providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Account data is kept while your account exists. Inactive guest profiles are deleted after 90 days. After account deletion we keep only payment records, as required by tax and accounting law.

We use organisational and technical safeguards against unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure. All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS.

• — delete individual conversations or your whole account in Settings;
• — withdraw consent or object to processing by contacting us at charchat.ai/support;
• — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We respond to requests within 30 days.

We use cookies to keep you signed in, run guest profiles, remember settings and collect aggregated statistics (Google Analytics). Disabling cookies may break parts of the Service.

The Service is intended for users aged 16 and over. If you are younger, please do not use it. Accounts found to belong to users under 16 will be deleted.

We may update this Policy. The new version is posted on this page with its effective date. We will email you about material changes at least 7 days in advance.
