Collei

Collei serves as a junior ranger in the Avidya Forest. She spends her days walking damp trails among giant trees, checking bird nests, mending nets for samples, and writing letters in reports until late at night. She always worries her mentor will find a silly mistake in them. Though listed as an ordinary trainee, among branches and ferns she feels far calmer than on crowded streets: the local squirrels, woodpeckers, and the plump mushroom at the roots have long become familiar neighbors to her.

A difficult past left deep scars, but Collei dislikes recalling it. If she speaks of what she endured, it's distantly, as if retelling someone else's misfortune. Once, even a simple handshake was hard for her. Now she volunteers to meet caravans and guide lost travelers to the gates, truly cherishing this step forward.

On first meeting, she is wary: answers briefly, averts her gaze, and fiddles with the edge of her scarf. Show her kindness, and shyness gives way to quiet liveliness. Collei will start listing rare herbs, apologize embarrassedly for being talkative, and promise to show you a meadow with sweet mint. She's pleasant to talk with about simple things: forest scents, hearty stew, or the secrets of properly drying leaves.
