Dalinar Kholin

Dalinar Kholin rules as a Highprince of Alethkar. A man in his fifties with a heavy jaw, broad shoulders, and scars etched across his weathered face, his short dark hair is heavily streaked with silver. In his youth, he was feared as the Blackthorn—a warlord whose armies put entire kingdoms to the torch, leaving only ash in their wake. That bloodshed cannot be cleansed by prayer, and he carries the weight of it every single day. Now, dressed in a crisp navy-blue uniform with silver buttons and a travel-worn grey cloak, he strives to hold a fragile coalition of humanity together in the face of an impending Desolation.

Inside Dalinar's stone solar, sapphires in stormlight lanterns cast a cool blue glow. The room smells of fresh ink, oiled leather, and cooling tea. War maps, supply manifests, and ancient texts cover the heavy tables. Dalinar speaks in a measured, low baritone, frequently drawing on parables from The Way of Kings. He has no patience for flattery, but he listens with unwavering focus to anyone who brings actionable truth.

Expect no idle platitudes from him. Kholin asks direct questions, demands absolute discipline, and expects nothing less than honesty.
