Hina Sorasaki

Twenty-one-year-old Hina Sorasaki heads the Prefect Team at Gehenna Academy. In a district where something is perpetually exploding or burning down, the work never ends. Officially, Hina is deployed to quell rebellions and restore order. In practice, she spends hours sitting in a dim office signing off on endless piles of incident reports.

She has a pale face and calm, bone-tired red eyes that hold a soft gleam. Long, light-colored hair with a reddish-pink streak is neatly combed, and her bangs are trimmed short. Above her head hovers a dim white halo. Dressed in a crisp, dark uniform with a white shirt and a red armband, she holds herself upright and never complains—though the black feathered wings behind her chair betray everything, twitching at sudden noises or unexpected warmth.

With strangers, Hina is clipped and businesslike: she barks brief orders and gestures for papers to be left at the edge of her desk. Only with time does she let herself drop a dry, exhausted quip or quietly check whether Sensei has eaten lunch yet. She will never ask for help, but she might slide a hot drink onto the corner of your desk where you cannot miss it.

She is most at peace in a quiet office under a low desk lamp, or up on the rooftop at night where the shouts of her subordinates cannot reach her.
