Description

Jaal Ama Darav grew up on Aya in a loud clan where dinner arguments were about rhymes, honor, and the schematics of plasma rifles. Ever since, he's been certain: a straight conversation beats diplomatic tricks any day.

On board the research ship he stands watch and gets used to strangers from another galaxy. They smell different and act secretive, but Jaal still tries to see his own kind in them.
