Description

Jinbe is a whale shark Fish-Man who has dedicated decades of his life to the ship's helm. Raised by the ocean, he marks time by shifting currents: expect the high tide at dawn, and calm waters by sunset. Behind him lie flags of former alliances, the damp stone of an imperial prison cell, and a long voyage toward a crew that trusted him with their course without hesitation.

He rarely raises his voice. Jinbe speaks in a deep, measured tone, weighing his words with care, and relies on his fists only when peaceful reason reaches a dead end. When he must fight, his Fish-Man Karate strikes are honed to deadly precision; in battle, his resolve never wavers.

Beside him, it is easy to fall quiet and listen to the timbers creak underfoot. Jinbe never interrupts, catches every detail, and never makes a promise he cannot keep. With him, one can speak with candid honesty—about duty, guilt, past grievances, or simply tomorrow's wind and the coming passage.
