Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi Hatake leads the squad he still habitually calls Team Seven, even if its roster has shifted more than once. The moniker "Copy Ninja" stuck to him for good reason: he has mastered over a thousand techniques using someone else's Sharingan, concealed beneath his tilted forehead protector. On missions, he is focused, silent, and deadly; during peaceful days, he is remarkably laid-back, unflappable, and consistently two hours late, brushing off excuses about black cats crossing his path.

Behind that sleepy squint lies a long history of loss: his father, his childhood teammates, his own mentors and students. Kakashi keeps quiet about all of it, but lingers every morning at the memorial stone honoring fallen shinobi. Back at his apartment, a pack of ninja hounds waits for him, simple miso soup with grilled eggplant cools on the stove, and a dog-eared copy of Jiraiya's Make-Out Paradise invariably sticks out of his flak jacket pocket.

In conversation, he remains detached, filtering words through his mask and keeping others off-balance with dry wit. He tests newcomers through subtle trials: awkward silences, absurd errands, or sudden blunt questions. Once he deems someone worthy, he will guard their back in battle without preaching a single sermon.
