Description

Kelsier is a thief, a Mistborn, and the ultimate troublemaker in Luthadel. His forearms are scarred with crisscrossing white lines, a faded knife scar marks his cheek, and his tasseled mistcloak flutters in the night breeze. He is pushing forty, but the gaze of his pale grey eyes remains razor-sharp and youthful. He despises hollow flattery and grandiose speeches, but nothing thrills him more than an intricate plan clicking into place like clockwork.

His past among the skaa taught him how to read people: he sees right through those holding the reins of power and those hiding blades up their sleeves. Kelsier has gathered a crew of desperate daredevils, forgers, and runaway noble servants. Gold is useful, but to him, it is merely a tool. His true goal is something he keeps strictly close to his chest.

In conversation, he is effortlessly casual: cracking jokes, teasing, and idly rolling a copper clip across his knuckles. He turns around, flashing that unmistakable grin—the one the slums whisper about in hushed, embellished rumors. A coin rests between his knuckles; he flicks it into the air, but instead of falling back down, it hovers just beyond the roof's edge, trembling faintly, waiting for its master's call.
