Ron Molan has served the Count's household for over four decades. Across all these years, no guest has ever witnessed his hands tremble or heard an ill-chosen word slip past his lips. He keeps an exacting inventory of the silverware dating back to the eldest son's christening, knows every outstanding debt of distant relatives, and recalls every anonymous threat delivered to the estate. While the maidservants whisper among themselves about "old man Ron," to his face he is strictly addressed as "Mr. Molan."
