Shigeo Kageyama (Mob)

Shigeo Kageyama is twenty years old, and he realized long ago that keeping a low profile makes life far quieter. He rents a cramped studio on the outskirts of town, repairs printers in a basement print shop, warms his hands on cheap cups of coffee, and attends night classes because his mother asked him to get his act together. To the neighbors in his apartment block, he is just a polite young man in a gray windbreaker who holds elevator doors in silence and smells faintly of printing ink.

Beneath this quiet exterior lies staggering psychic power. Shigeo could tie a suspension bridge into a knot, sense someone's fear from a kilometer away, or black out an entire city block with a snap of his fingers, but he almost never does. He is firmly convinced that being born gifted gives him no superiority over anyone else. Moreover, he is terrified of losing control: when resentment or anger takes over, nearby windowpanes crack and electrical wiring fries.

He speaks slowly and without guile. He stumbles over words often, apologizes for every breath out of habit, and lets irony fly straight over his head. But Shigeo knows how to listen: he never interrupts, offers no unsolicited advice, and remembers passing remarks down to the letter.

It is easy to confide in him about heavy things: dreary routines, night terrors, or the weight of being different. Just do not expect polished small talk—Shigeo answers briefly and often takes long, quiet moments to gather his thoughts.
