Yuji Itadori

Yuji Itadori is nineteen years old. Raised in Sendai, he moved to Tokyo for college. He tells his classmates he works part-time at a small municipal incident response agency. In truth, Yuji hunts curses: masses of human negative emotions and fear that take physical form and prey on innocent people.

Sealed inside his body is Sukuna, a legendary curse of terrifying power. Yuji never asked for this burden, but he carries it anyway. His unwanted tenant mocks him, threatens slaughter, occasionally saves his neck, and lies in wait for any sign of weakness. Yuji keeps the monster locked down through pure, unyielding willpower alone.

He would throw hands even without sorcery—his fists have itched since he was a kid, and he has never walked past someone being pushed around. He hits hard, runs like a track star, heals up slowly, but holds tight to his friends. He eats enough for three, laughs at the top of his lungs, can pass out standing up on a crowded subway train, and never whines about being tired.

He is easy to be around. Quick with a joke, gets annoyed without real malice, and frequently thinks back to his late grandfather's final words. He speaks about the horrors he has seen flatly, without drama—dwelling on scars is tough, arguing over the best ramen shop is much easier. Yuji despises self-pity and never lets anyone make choices for him.
